Illiumination "In Situ"
Now let's take a gander at some Illumination In Situ!
In Situ: Latin for "in position" or "in its original place".

This is the Trade Winds restaurant in Oxnard, CA with its classic A frame, outriggers, a Chinese boat floating in the lagoon at the entrance and elaborate landscaping. The Trade Winds was one of the most impressive Polynesian pop palaces in its heyday.

The interior of the Trade Winds entrance lounge shows patrons eagerly waiting for their tables with cocktails and cigarettes. Notice the 4 Laguna Lamps hanging from the high ceiling, and on other side of this picture are my 2 lamps in the same style. Notice the entrance lounge was more mid century than tiki, but this style of lamps co-existed with beachcomber lamps in tiki restaurants.

The Bahooka was located in Rosemead, CA and known for its many fish tanks located around the restaurant.

A flower lamp and a flat chunk lamp at the Bahooka.

Another flower lamp at the Bahooka next to a tiki statue.

The Tikis was located in Monterey Park, CA and it was a restaurant, bar, amusement park and live entertainment venue dedicated to celebrating all things Tiki in the most over-the-top ways!

These chunky lamps were at The Tikis

There was a Round Tube Flower lamp in the A frame of the Kona Pali Apartments.

It looks like the Round Tube Flower lamp was removed from the Kona Pali apartments.

At the Tropics Motor Lodge in Blythe, California which is the last city on I-10 before crossing over the Colorado River into Arizona, you can see a pair of what looks to be Laguna Lamps tile globes hanging in the A Frame portechere. This portechere looks very similar to the one here at the Caliente Tropic Hotel, and even the tiki statue does as well.

Inside the Blythe Tropics cocktail lounge, you can see flower globes hanging from the ceiling. This was probably the grooviest place in Blythe back in the day to get a cocktail after a long drive across the desert. On the left is a flower lamp as an example.

This is the Celebrity Sports Center in Denver which was started by Walt Disney himself, hence why this sign looks similar to the original Disneyland sign.

Inside the Celebrity Sports Center was a restaurant called the Hofbrau House with different shapes of Laguna Lamps in it.
